Wayne Wigham was a resounding success with our outdoor workers, displaying extreme passion in his speech delivery and connecting wonderfully with our audience. He addressed important topics related to mental health in a very real and relatable way, providing interesting scientific information that supported the discussions. This effectively demystified much of the stigma surrounding mental health perceptions. By sharing his own story in an open, honest, and vulnerable manner, Wayne was able to put our workers at ease, fostering an environment of community support that encouraged reflective thought among the group. This was clearly demonstrated by the willingness of our predominantly male workers to approach Wayne after the event for casual conversations about the topics that resonated with them. Additionally, I received numerous messages of gratitude and positive feedback after the event, with many expressing appreciation for how wonderfully Wayne shared his personal life story, including our General Manager.
I am writing to thank you for your involvement in the May 2019 National Indigenous Coalition (NIC) Conference. We had a successful conference where representatives from various program areas gained valuable Indigenous insights and perspectives that will inform their ongoing work, particularly in the area of community support.

I just wanted to give you some feedback on the presentations conducted by Wayne Wigham last week at GVW. Wayne conducted 5 sessions in total for differing types of audiences and was able to adjust his presentation to fit each group. We have received strong positive feedback from our employees regarding the presentations, with several identifying personal issues or those affecting friends and family. Wayne made himself available after each session to engage with employees in person, which led to at least 2 employees requesting assistance with their mental health. This is a great result, showcasing the importance of community support, and I would like to thank Wayne Wigham for your efforts. Wayne Wigham delivered a very powerful and thought-provoking presentation that highlighted the importance of community support in relation to mental health. I just wanted to share that I’m receiving a lot of positive feedback about the session Wayne Wigham delivered this morning at the depot. I’ve never witnessed such focused concentration from our outdoor crew while he spoke, and several people approached me afterward expressing how impactful the presentation was, particularly in relation to community support and mental health.
